College Pointers, LLC - Carolyn White Bio

Carolyn White, founder of College Pointers, LLC understands first-hand what families encounter during the college search. Carolyn has experience and knowledge as a college admissions insider. Her thirty years of experience in higher education provided the expertise to establish College Pointers. She has held a wide variety of positions in the field of college admissions for large, multi-campus institutions and mid-sized, private liberal arts colleges.

Carolyn has a unique perspective into all facets of student advisement having counseled countless high school, undergraduate and graduate students. She has counseled students and their families in admissions, major and course selection and ultimately graduation and career placement.

As a parent who successfully navigated the college admissions process with her own children, she is dedicated to helping other families. Understanding the stress involved for both parents and students during the college search, Carolyn is committed to alleviating the pressure and working objectively with students and their families.

An associate member of the Independent Educational Consultants Association (IECA), Carolyn completed training through the IECA Summer Training Institute. She takes pride in knowing that the IECA Principles of Good Practice are the foundation of her consulting practice.

Carolyn believes that education is a life-long process. She recently completed the University of California Certificate Program for the Independent Educational Consultant. Carolyn earned her Bachelor of Arts from Marist College and Master of Arts from New York Institute of Technology. She is a member of The National Association for College Admission Counseling (NACAC).
